The primary goal of establishing a K-pop school is due to the lack of institutions specializing in K-pop and increasing demand for curricula focused on practical arts education to nurture K-pop talents.
The curriculum will include specialized programs in applied arts such as vocal, dance and musical instruments, taught by experienced K-pop professionals.
In an official briefing, Ha Yoon-su, the superintendent of education in Busan, stated that international students are also eligible to apply, and there will be a curriculum designed specifically for them.
The education office will collaborate with the National Institute for International Education and Korea Tourism Organization to launch the school and recruit students from around the world.

An official at the Busan Metropolitan Government informed The Korea Herald that authorities are currently considering several possible sites for the school and will most likely adapt an empty school building in Gangseo-gu area, Busan.
The education office added, "The school is still in the early stages of planning." The authorities intend to set up a special commission for the school. Details, including the size and curriculum, will be decided later.
