Last weekend, me and my friends decided to spend our first Sunday of summer break in the famous Hanok Bukchon Village. The entire area is really beautiful as you see the antique and the new modern Korean cultures merge together so beautifully. There, I visited a Korean traditional tea house where I had one of the most memorable experiences.
지난 주말, 저와 친구들은 여름 방학의 첫 번째 일요일을 서울의 골동품 지역인 한옥 북촌 마을에서 보내기로 결정했어요. 그 지역은 너무 아름다워서 내가 걸었던 길을 따라 현대성과 고풍스러움이 어우러진 것을 알 수 있다. 하지만 나에게 가장 기억에 남는 경험은 한국 전통 찻집을 방문한 것이다.

The special feature of this tea house is its location. Since it is in the residential area, one has to walk a significant amount uphill. It might be tiring, but trust me, once you reach, you will realize the hard work was worth it. The atmosphere of the tea house is very peaceful. I loved the ancient charm of this place, a thing so unique and signature of the Bukchon Hanok Village.
이 찻집의 특징은 위치이다. 언덕을 올라가야 하는 주택가에 위치해 있기 때문에(많이 지쳤지만 결과는 정말 훌륭하다) 찻집의 분위기는 정말 고요하고 평화롭다. 언덕을 오르면 북촌한옥마을의 상징인 오래된 길이지만 아름다워서 바로 이 찻집의 정취를 느낄 수 있다.
Not only this, but the tea house also provides gorgeous views of the majestic mountains, which adds to the charm of this place. I could see many people coming here to read books and chill by themselves. It is such a wonderful place to spend your weekend after a rushing and busy week. Inside the tea house, there is also a small garden, with many beautiful flowers and cute miniature figures.
눈에 띄게, 그 찻집은 또한 자연적 분위기에 크게 기여한 산을 바라본다. 그래서 많은 사람들이 책을 읽고 혼자서 휴식을 취하는 것을 볼 수 있었다. 바쁘고 바쁜 한 주를 보내고 주말을 보내기에 정말 좋은 장소이다. 찻집 안에는 또한 많은 꽃들이 심어져 있는 작은 정원도 있다. 정원은 작고 귀여운 미니어처 모형으로도 꾸며져 있다.

Since this is a traditional tea house, it serves a lot of Korean tea and dessert. We decided to ordered Omija bingsu, Cha-teul Glutinous rice cakes and Ice flowers tea. Even though it takes around 10-15 minutes to prepare the tea and dessert, they are all delicious and carefully decorated.
이곳은 전통 찻집이기 때문에 한국 차와 후식을 많이 제공합니다. 우리는 오미자빙수, 차틀 찹쌀떡, 아이스플라워차를 주문하기로 했다. 차와 디저트를 준비하는 데 10~15분 정도 걸리지만 모두 맛있고 정성스럽게 장식되어 있다.
For me, the most delicious out of the three is Cha-teul Glutinous rice cakes. Basically, it is strawberry and red bean wrapped in glutinous rice. Nevertheless, the texture of the rice used for wrapping is chewy, which enhances the taste of the dessert. The strawberry and red beans are also very fresh which add to the taste.
저는 세 가지 중에서 가장 맛있는 것이 차얼찹쌀떡입니다. 기본적으로 딸기와 팥을 찹쌀로 싼 것이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 쌀쌈의 식감은 쫄깃쫄깃해서 후식의 맛을 돋운다. 딸기와 팥도 신선합니다.
The Ice flower tea is highly recommended for a hot summer day. Imagine on a burning hot day of summer, sipping some fresh and sweet-smelling tea and looking out to a marvellous view of nature; doesn’t that sound dreamy? It is all one needs to let go of the tiredness and exhaustion. Another uniqueness of this place is the cup in which they serve the tea. It is served in a cute and pretty cup, which identifies itself with the overall theme of this place.
더운 여름날에는 아이스플라워차를 적극 추천한다. 타는 듯이 더운 여름날에, 신선하고 달콤한 향이 나는 차를 홀짝이며 내가 필요한 것은 자연의 경이로운 경치뿐이라고 상상해 보세요. 이 차의 보너스 포인트는 분홍색과 함께 귀엽고 독특한 컵에 제공되기 때문에 꽃의 이미지를 그린다는 것이다.
The last dessert is the Omija bingsoo. Basically, it is milk shaved-ice with Omija syrup. The tea house staff told us that often people can sense 5 tastes while having it so we awaited the dessert with lots of expectations. I even imagined it to be quite strong- both on the aroma as well on the taste front. But it turned out to be fresh and amicable. Definitely worth trying!
마지막 디저트는 오미자빙수입니다. 오미자 시럽을 넣은 우유 빙수입니다. 찻집 직원이 고객들이 이 디저트를 먹을 때 5가지 맛을 느낄 수 있다고 소개해서 기대가 큽니다. 사실, 나는 그것이 꽤 강한 냄새와 강한 맛이 날 것이라고 생각했지만, 그것은 정말 신선하고 맛보기 쉬운 것으로 드러났다. 그래서 시도해 볼 가치가 있었다!
